Assalamualaikum,
I just wanted to share a suggestion that might help improve the reading room experience for everyone.
Sometimes, especially during night routines, many people want to join a room, but the limit is 14 participants. It would be great if the number could be increased, since a lot of us want to join and benefit together, especially during group recitations.
Also, I’ve noticed that some rooms become more of a social space rather than a Qur’anic space. While it’s nice to have a sense of community, the purpose of these rooms is to recite and reflect on the Qur’an. When there’s too much unrelated chatting, it can take away from the focus and atmosphere.
Here are a few suggestions that might help:
1. Quiet Mode Option
Add a setting that limits chatting, stickers, or reactions during recitation time to help participants stay focused.
2. Etiquette Reminder Before Sessions
A gentle reminder (like a pop-up) when someone enters a room, encouraging people to stay quiet, focus, and avoid unrelated conversation.
3. Dedicated Social Time (Optional)
If interaction is part of the app experience, maybe allow time after recitation sessions for people to connect — but separate from the Qur’an time.
4. Moderator Tools for Hosts
I know some tools like mute and report already exist, which is helpful. It would also be useful to allow the host to control when the chat (or name-changing) is open or closed during the session, to help keep the environment respectful.
5. Limited Message Option for Listeners
Some people can’t speak but still want to participate respectfully, so they type “listening” in the name field. Maybe a small, limited message feature could be added with preset replies (like “Listening,” “Present,” or “JazakAllah khair, MashaAllah etc”) so people can respond quietly without turning it into a chat room.
Jazakum Allahu khayran for all the work you’re doing. May Allah reward you and increase the benefit of this app
